The BMW Alpina XB7
The BMW Alpina XB7 has a tough competitor today: the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. We’ll get to the MB in a minute, but for now lets look at the XB7 and find out what makes it tick. It has 612 horsepower and 590 foot pounds of torque coming out of a meaty 4.4 litre V8 biturbo engine. It also has three rows of comfy seats and lots of luxury prowess to show off. Such as its adaptive suspension that lets it drastically change ride height with the push of a button. This allows the mighty SUV to be slammed all the way down so the fender nearly meets the wheels. Thomas starts off in the Alpina and shares his thoughts on how it feels to drive. Will it be different to an M-Series BMW? Watch and find out!
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is packed with power and luxury. From its 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine it slaps out 603 horsepower and 627 foot pounds of torque. A gorgeous showing of ambient lighting and 3 rows of leather seats adorn the interior. While the exterior sports a large grille that both Thomas and James agree was executed quite well for a vehicle of this size. James takes the GLS 63 AMG out for a spin first, and examines how it drives. For something of this size, he was impressed with how much confidence it inspires in a corner. But he has more to say about it than just its confidence inspiring nature.
Which of these two performance luxury SUVs would you like to take home? The adaptive ride adjusting BMW Alpina XB7? Or the stylish and quick Mercedes-AMG GLS 63? Let us know in the comments of the video!
