The 2021 Acura TLX – Yin Meets Yang

The 2021 Acura TLX should not be overlooked. Costing around $52k in the premium elite trim, this sedan absolutely competes with others in its class. However James points out that for every positive yin in this car, there seems to be an opposing yang. Like how the fantastic sound system is attached to a somewhat difficult to master infotainment system. Or how the car’s delightful chassis is attached to a slightly slow to respond engine with turbo lag. Despite the small concessions that are made for its greatness to show, the 2021 Acura TLX is overall an enjoyable sedan. Thomas and James discuss how it stacks up against its competitors such as the BMW 3-series, and if it is worth the extra money over a Honda Accord.

Can’t Fully Disable Traction Control? But Thomas Needs to Skid!

If you are familiar with Throttle House then you will know that Thomas likes to get sideways. He says it’s in the interest of seeing how a car will respond when it’s pushed, but we all know he’s just a little drift-nut at heart. In the case of the 2021 Acura TLX, Thomas had some troubles fully disabling the traction control system through normal button pushes. Even though he had attempted to turn it off, it was still turning itself back on and limiting his tire-squealing high jinks. In his own words “It’s one of those systems that lies to you”.

The only solution that follows for Thomas is to pull the fuse that lets the traction control system turn on in the first place (don’t try this at home!). This resulted in disabling both the anti-lock brakes and the traction control system. It also put every light on the dash into a frenzy, mirroring Thomas’ excitement to finally get sideways. Watch and find out what happens!
