The 2021 Mustang Mach-E
The 2021 Mustang Mach-E has certainly stirred up quite the controversy. The new electric SUV from Ford carries with it the beloved Mustang badge and name. This leaves many enthusiasts wondering if it drives and performs like a mustang. Costing over $71k CAD, this premium extended range Mach-E is the top trim available. That means it has a 435 kilometer range – putting it a bit under the total km per charge of the Tesla Model Y Long Range. It also puts power to all four wheels. A respectable 428 pound feet of torque and 346 horsepower at that. But the question still stands: is this electric SUV worthy of the Mustang name? Thomas and James share their thoughts on the matter. Watch and find out!
Is it a Playful Mustang or a Pedestrian SUV?
Much like the title of the video says, the Mustang Mach-E is nothing short of controversial. It is the first electrified entry into the Mustang line up and has a zero to sixty time of 4.8 seconds. In terms of being a mustang, or an electric SUV that competes with the likes of Tesla, does this Mach-E provide the same fun and performance? Both Tesla SUVs and the Mach-E’s gas powered siblings provide faster straight line speeds. But can the new electric SUV from Ford provide enough thrills without a blazingly fast 0-60 time?
Thomas and James share their driving impressions and discuss their feelings on the attached Mustang badge. They also showcase some of the car’s unique quirks, like the frunk that was designed with American tailgate parties in mind. Could this be the electric SUV that America needed?
