The 2022 Toyota GR86
The 2022 Toyota GR86 has been long awaited by many car enthusiasts. It offers a tantalizing layout for road and track drivers alike. Front engine rear drive with a manual transmission option and limited slip differential in the rear. Everything the enthusiast needs to enjoy their drive. The new GR86 has improved upon the previous generation GT86 in several ways. For one, it has more power and torque – especially down low, ridding the car of that pesky torque dip that was once in the middle of the rev range. It has also seen some suspension tweaking and livability improvements, along with a sleek new design both inside and out. What will the guys think? And how will it hold up during some hot laps? Watch to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode.
A Skit Before a Track Test?
While we don’t normally do skits for our track tests… this time we just couldn’t resist. As any 86, BRZ or FRS owner will tell you – the car is not built for straight line speed. While this certainly is the case for the previous generation, will the new engine in the 2022 Toyota GR86 improve its acceleration? The guys put it head to head against both a 2020 86 and surprise guest on the drag strip. What do you think of the upgrades in the GR86? Are they enough to make you happy? Or could they have done something differently? Let us know in the comments!
