The 2021 BMW M5 Competition LCI
The 2021 BMW M5 Competition LCI is no slouch for power or speed. It puts down a blisteringly fast 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and slams out 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The twin turbo v8 is connected to a responsive 8-speed automatic and both the interior and exterior have been refreshed for 2021. The M xDrive system allows the all wheel drive system to shift into a two wheel drive mode, permitting some serious RWD hooliganry.
Promising stylish looks and unrelenting power, does this year’s BMW M5 Competition live up to the M badge (and competition) expectations? Watch as Thomas and James share their thoughts and driving impressions on this $120,000 monster of a BMW M car.
Does it Drive as Nice as it Looks?
The 2021 BMW M5 Competition is a gorgeous sedan from just about every angle. Both Thomas and James are happy to see that this year’s facelift did not include the incredibly oversized grille found in the M440i. The interior styling changes also bring a bit more pop to the cockpit, but the question of how it drives remains. Does this M5 Competition offer all the thrills and driving excitement that one would expect from a competition branded M car? Kick back and relax as Thomas and James take you through the experience that this car provides. Enjoy!
