Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 vs Rolls-Royce Cullinan

1280 720 Throttle House

The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan both compete to be luxurious adventure vehicles. On this episode of Throttle House, Thomas and James spend the day comparing these two elegant SUVs. The GLS600 has a focus on the rear passenger. The assumption being that you would be driven around by someone else most of the time. With the $7,000 option for the executive rear seating packaged ticked off, you get a plethora of comforts and tech in the back. That includes the luscious 4 seat setup, a refrigerator with built-in champagne flutes, and folding tables for on the go meals. But how does it compare to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan? A brand that has been known to take exuberant luxury to the highest extreme? Watch to find out!

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan

With a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, your road presence is near second to none. From close or far, the Cullinan turns heads and commands the road. Yes, the GLS600 may have the more comfortable back seats, but Rolls says that the Cullinan is for adventure. Well… they don’t say it in so few words. The language Rolls-Royce likes to use in their press releases is more flowery than a summer garden. However as Thomas mentions, if you had wanted a Rolls for the upmost luxury possible, you would have bought the Ghost or the Phantom. Instead, you can option your Cullinan with all sorts of recreation modules (a Rolls term), so that you can complete your adventures with composure and class. That means you can customize your luxury SUV to be equipped with things like a falconry module, or a drone flying module.
