The Polestar 2: a Silent Nemesis for the Model 3
The Polestar 2 is the new EV challenger for the well established Tesla Model 3. Both cars are fully electric and have all wheel drive. They are both available in performance trims. And, they both have a price that is in the high $70,000’s CAD. Thomas and James have set out to determine how the Polestar 2 stacks up against the Tesla Model 3. They dive into driving dynamics, livability, and compare interior and exterior styling. Will the newcomer from Polestar be able to give the Tesla Model 3 a run for its money?
2021 Polestar 2 vs Tesla Model 3
The Tesla Model 3 has faster acceleration and longer range than the Polestar 2. The newest update propels the Model 3 from 0-60 in 3.0 seconds flat. The Polestar however, comes equipped with very capable Öhlins dampers. For Thomas, these adjustable dampers play an important role when considering that these are performance trim EVs. Although the Tesla Model 3 is lightning fast, the Polestar 2 is no slouch off the line. It is capable of a respectable 0-60 time of about 4.7 seconds.
The guys consider the daily livability of each car, including the EV range. The Model 3 has a longer range of 518 kms, compared to its new competitor’s range of 375 kms. However the interior of the Polestar might provide a more familiar experience than that of the Tesla. Watch and find out how these two EVs perform side by side!
